Our Mission Statement

We believe baseball is way more than just a game. It’s about bringing people together, having fun, making friends, and building community.

The New York Sandlot Collective is all about:

Making Baseball Fun for Everyone: We want everyone to feel welcome and experience the thrill of baseball, regardless of who they are, their age, or how good they are at the game.
Building a Strong Community: We’re creating a place where people can come together, have a blast, and make memories that will last a lifetime.
Helping People Grow: We believe baseball teaches important life skills like teamwork, cooperation, perseverance, confidence, sportsmanship, respect, responsibility, and accountability.
Giving Back to the Area: We participate in community endeavors to use our love of the game to give back to those that can benefit from our efforts.

Food Drives: Every can and box donated makes a real difference in someone’s life. We understand local food pantries are experiencing increased demands lately, and we utilize our network of baseball friends to collect non-perishable food items to help stock the shelves.
Equipment Drives: As we’re a group focused on baseball, we also accept donations of gently loved baseball equipment that we distribute to teams and players in need, to help keep the game going in our community.
Community Events: Committing to practices and scheduled games can be a lot, so we offer games that are open to everyone to show up, play, and keep it moving when we’re done. We often have live music, food, and drinks from our partners in the community, and these scrimmages are a super casual, fun way to check out what we’re about. Come toss the ball and swing the bat without a bigger commitment. You’ll be back for more!
